• Establish a significant endowment for operations, maintenance of the building and grounds and continuing support to our innovative programming and exhibitions

• Commit resources to achieve and maintain comprehensive operational excellence

• Make highly visible the museum’s critical need for volunteers for every facet of the museum’s life

• Diversify and engage to ensure that the museum’s audience is inclusive of our community

• The Waco African American Museum (WAAM) will be a cultural anchor in the heart of the East Waco community by providing a venue  for  the exchange of cultural experiences.

• The WAAM will be a living cultural institution that will present and interpret the diversity of the African American experience, values and lifestyle for the greater Waco community.

• WAAM will connect all people through the celebration and exploration of the art, culture and history of the African Diaspora. WAAM will promote, explore and appreciate the contributions that people of African descent have made across the globe.

• Through four universal themes: Origins, Movement, Adaptation and Transformation. WAAM will share the stories of the people of African descent that celebrate the strength of humanity.  Blending art and innovative technology with the African tradition of storytelling, WAAM's permanent exhibitions will allow visitors of all ages to explore cultural traditions in an immersive, interactive environment.
